Communism is the enemy of mankind

Agree. Kill ‘em all.

Not that I agree with this, but it puts in perspective what people who dealt with communism felt:

Ha...Communists would label Capitalism (Individual Freedom, from Collectivist rule) as "Darwinian Economics". And they would be right. Merit-based affluence - though we all know that a lot of high-ups who game the merit part of the equation - is relatively 'unmerciful' for those who have minimal innate power re "life's lottery" IQ/Genetic advantage, talents, particular motivation, cultural scenario, etc. No doubt that Darwin got us where we are, culling out the weak and rewarding the strong with life.

The philosophical (Truth) dynamic changed when Jesus introduced the idea of Mercy as a/the epitome of Love. It puts 'Christians' in a box, as they are forced to lend mercy if they hope to receive such as a criteria for judgment into their (assumed) next life. Lend no mercy to the weak...get none from Jesus. Justice over Mercy.

The problem for Communists is that they can not argue for (Social) Justice on the basis of Morality/Love/Mercy because they neither believe in God or Jesus/Mercy. And they can't argue on a practical utilitarian basis other than that the emotion of Jealousy/Envy inevitably undermines stable society.

The Book by Helmut Schoeck titled "Envy" is an excellent read. Like most families, tribes and nations in the historical record, societies have always feared the pernicious power of envy and jealously and for that reason adopted (pseudo) 'Communist' principle.They cut the 'weak' slack, for various practical reasons. Of course, Hitler rejected that and attempted to Systematically cull the weak and cultivated the strong in the natural gene pool. His criteria for judgment of what/who IS weak, failed. Miserably and painfully so. Live and learn.

My prediction is that if Humanity is to avert a 'Fermi Paradox' end - given our exponential acquisition of Knowledge/Power - then Jesus' admonition of Love and Mercy toward the weak extended WITH QUALIFIERS is our only hope.

This particular Universe is very old; not to mention the infinite Parallel Universes that exist outside of this one. This 'qualifier game' for life and prosperity has likely been playout innumerable times. The reality that we live in this extraordinary time wherein we are able to realize and willfully choose (or reject) the Idea of Mercy via Love as THE pivotal Universal Law for survival and prosperity, is humbling.

Lord have Mercy.

Wait a minute, not that I completely disagree, but how do you balance this with your belief in Jesus? Or, are you just a fan of his teachings, and dismiss the “he’s the son of god” part? Just curious. Not flaming.

I am not the least bit religious, by the way. I’ve seen enough of this rock and the people on it to know that there is no merciful, all powerful, all seeing, loving god sitting up stairs watching over mankind. If there is a god, he said “frick y’all” to us a long time ago.

The things that people do in the name of religion...it all but proves that there is no such thing.
