But 30th against the run. HOPEFULLY, we get back on track with our running game.

i don't think UF was ranked much worse than that before we played them. they had just given up a ton to arky

3rd defense in the nation and SOS is running the offense. Not a good combo for LSU.

Im sure our D can change all that.

Keep in mind the Pass D numbers are going to be skewed a little bit because this is their schedule so far (with passing offense rank):
NC St. 82nd
Vandy 116th
UGA 19th
Wofford --
UAB 55th
Ole Miss 54th
UK 90th
NC St. 82nd
Vandy 116th
UGA 19th
Wofford --
UAB 55th
Ole Miss 54th
UK 90th

i agree
they're also very bad in turnover margin

True.. but LSU hasnt really been known for its high-powered offense has it? And thats not meant to be smack.. just saying the defense seems to be LSUs "jewel of the crown"
and even then.. our D gave up 0 points to NC State.. only 1 TD against UGA.. and 10 points to UK.

you haven't watched us the last year and a half have you?

Are you telling me your offense carried the team? With the likes of Dorsey and others on the other side of the ball? Hell the only thing I remember last year about the LSU game is the announcers bringing up Dorsey if he was 5 yards within the tackle.

We're 50th in passing, and earlier in the season we had shitty QB play, now Lee is getting better. Our OL and Charles Scott will help us against your run defense.
It's going to be a close game though.

from the game against ya'll, till now, the offense has carried us.
Spurrier exploited our defense for the world to see, and every coach now seems to know how to beat it, underneath passes to slot receivers, te's, and rb's

Charles Scott needs 165+ yardage Saturday to make up for only having 35 against Florida.

Our Defense numbers are always skewed because we dont play our tougher opponents until late in the season with the exception of Georgia and they never play well against us.
I think we have a shot at LSU but if you're a Tiger fan I wouldnt be too worried about our D stats. Thay are really good but I think with two struggling offenses its really going to be about turnover margin. We are terrible at TO margin, with the exception of the Ole Miss game.
If you consider a missed FG a TO, we had 8 against KY with INT, fumbles, and missed FGs. If the gamecocks can beat LSU we have to take care of the ball.

Really? Didn't we get beat 34-13 by Georgia not that long ago?

The lackluster offensive rankings don't comfort me. Spurrier may not be the virtuoso he was in the 1990's, but he is still a very capable offensive coach.
He is the very coach who exposed LSU's defensive weaknesses last season. He will exploit our secondary and linebackers unless we make defensive adjustments.
