I’m looking for recommendations for a food truck or two for a private event and I’d appreciate any input from the board. I’m looking for one or two lunch trucks and one dessert/ice cream truck if there are any in the area.

Thanks for any recommendations!

Gail's Fine Ice Cream just opened up (owned by Merchant/Curbside people). I am almost positive they use that truck they have parked out front for private events. I want to say they even offer both ice cream and cocktails of some sort to take care of both adults and kids.

Absolutely some of the worst marketers ever. Can you ever even find them?

baton rouge is extremely food truck-unfriendly (laws/regs/etc)

I'm pretty sure most of them were forced to go private (at breweries or other private property, for private events, etc.) because Baton Rouge made it impossible for them to post up just anywhere.

The app probably hasn't been updated since the old days before the city started cracking down on them, hence not being able to find them around town.

BR makes it very hard for food trucks. There’s not a big enough population and not a food truck friendly location with people constantly around other than downtown Br for lunch.

Do you need a restaurant app to find restaurants?

I just googled “Baton Rouge food trucks” and every one I could think of popped up along with their websites.

It’s not a billboard or a prime time commercial but it’s pretty simple.

Not sure if they still do it but we went to a private casual party a few years back and they had the Delpit's Chicken Shack food truck there.....very good.

I don't think Taco de Paco exists anymore, so that's why you don't see them on your app or whatever.

They went an entirely different direction a couple years ago and opened a catering/food vendor type deal that serves camps, schools, churches, etc.

One of the dudes affiliated with Rock Paper Taco (new brick and mortar taco shop on W. Chimes - very good) was somehow connected to that whole group, so maybe he owned Taco de Paco partially or something? I only halfway remember.

Either way, that truck has been closed a few years.

Great work picking the one that’s been closed for years

Chicky Sandos and Tres Street Kitchen both had links to where they were set up.

Sorry they haven’t taken over a few of Gordon McKernan’s billboards yet
