Recently purchased some elephant ear (Alocasia) bulbs for some pots on the patio. I've never planted elephant ears so I'm wondering if there is any advice H/G Board has? Thanks.

Then I guess I shouldn't have a hard time with them. They'll be in pots so if I really want to get rid of them I can just dump them in the trash. No trying to fish for bulbs in the ground to kill them.

They'll be in almost all shade in a north facing outdoor patio. Bright indirect light but never really direct sunlight on the foliage.

Smart move. Elephant ears, banana plants, bamboo, mint and I'm sure several others should be in pots and not in the ground unless you want them to spread everywhere over time.

Some will get insanely large if planted in the right soil and sun location and some spread. So insanely large elephant ears can become a nuisance if the conditions are right.

They can get huge and don’t let the frost touch them.

The fruit on them is sort of pineapple flavored, but the little black seeds are very sharp and there are hundreds per fruit.

Don't let your kids play with them too much. One of my kids kept folding them and making "sandwiches". It took me the longest time figuring out why she kept getting rashes.
