Ours wasn't getting renewed so they priced out another company and it almost doubled. Shopped around a bit and ended up going with Liberty mutual for $200 more a year.

How much have your homes appreciated in the last year? That impacts replacement cost.

How much more are the materials that would be required to rebuild your home due to inflation and material/labor shortages?

Have you noticed all those parasitic injury attorneys on billboards all over the place? We are all now paying more to cover their ridiculous settlements.

Add in a couple hurricanes in back to back years to juice the formularies and here we are.

It’s only going to get worse with many writers leaving the coastal zones all together which means the remaining writers can charge more due to reduced competition.

He’s a mess but he didn’t have anything to do with the hurricanes, and our home owners insurance said frick it and left Louisiana all together. Now paying more just like lots of people around here.

I’ve been lucky. Mine is the same this year as last.

TBH I’d be concerned, because either they didn’t adjust your insured value for inflation or you don’t have replacement cost.

My Ins. agent just called me, America's Insurance is pulling out of LA, they are not writing any new policies, and soaking any existing customer they can on their way out.

It's increasing pretty quickly across the nation. As someone said, rising home prices, material costs and other inflation is driving a lot of it. It's not just the gulf coast.
