And you are why we will end up with Ivey again. Tim James is a politician but at least seems he will serve what the people of Alabama want. The “Lew” guy as you mentioned has no shot of winning, only thing he will do is pull votes from the real Ivey contenders.

This mentality is why we wound up with Mitt and McCain.

You vote for what you believe. If you vote for what's "strategic", 9 times out of 10 you're just a patsy.

So you think Ivey is the answer? She’s proven over and over again she doesn’t care what the people want, only the people lining her pockets. She has and will again refuse to debate because she has the money behind her and hopes you idiots think her southern accent makes her “one of y’all”.

Aside from family members who still live in the state, I really have no strong opinion other than this: it continues to confound me how a state with so many wonderful people in it can consistently elect such truly awful politicians.

Anyone but MeeMaw in the primary. I haven't yet decided who I'm going to bite for there.

If anyone gets into a runoff with MeeMaw, I'll vote for that person in the general election.

No, I do not. But what makes you think a son of a pretty useless Governor is his own right, who has basically gotten fat off state money (which is largely federal money) in his private business dealings is going to be a positive change? Because he runs silly ads about drag queens?

Alabama's problem is that our entire economy at every level depends on federal spending. Half the state is only steps from a third world country. The other half will collapse the second the fed stops printing. I don't think James is going to be the guy doing anything about that. I'm not sure any of them would, but at least Burdette understands the problem of lobbyists in state politics.

Negative tv ads beginning to be shown about Ivey. Looks like Tim James and Lindy Blanchard are getting fired up.

Also, beginning to see negative ads against Britt and Durant.

I like Blanchard just don’t think she can win. I’d vote for her over Ivey.

I'm voting for Lew Burdette.

The other candidates are trying out clown each other. Tim won't be any different than Kay. His campaign is full of former ALGOP and DC establishment. Lindy is just propped up by millions of dollars. I'm also convinced Kay Ivey is in worse shape than Joe Biden. You never see her anywhere that isn't a well staged ribbon cutting.

I don't doubt that Kay Ivey is at 50% in the polls, but you would think at that number you'd see a lot of die hard Kay Ivey supporters but you don't. People just tolerate her because she hasn't had a scandal.

Shorty Price always gets a few votes. Even tho he has been dead for a while.

quote:

In one of Shorty’s campaigns for governor his campaign speech contained this line, “If elected governor I will reduce the governor’s tenure from four to two years. If you can’t steal enough to last you the rest of your life in two years, you ain’t got enough sense to have the office in the first place.” He would use recycled campaign signs to save money but he rarely garnered two percent of the votes in any campaign.

The Shorty Price story.
