That was a very overrated movie. Pretty, but empty.
ETA: Hard to believe the reception on here of some things. The Riddler was a distant antagonist whose threat was diluted with a very hackneyed and cliche political corruption aside. When he was finally revealed and captured, he came off as more of an insane child than any sort of Se7en style villain.
Catwoman SUCKED. Kravitz was a snoozefest and that "romance" they tried to half-heartedly build with Batman would make a Hallmark movie wince.
Pattinson was decent, but added nothing new to the role at all. It was a detective story in a way, but no big surprises. Everything was clumsily telegraphed.
Better than Dark Knight? Laughable. Ledger owned the screen. Not one figure in this entire movie came close to approaching that intensity. More or less, The Batman was a stretched out, big budget TV episode. It easily could have been done in an hour.

Great description. I would say I was a fan of the brutality in this movie though but at no point did I feel Batman had met his match.

quote:I really hate this term personally. It can alter your perception of something. It’s ok if you didn’t think this was the best Batman. I didn’t either. There were some things I didn’t care for, but it was a really good movie. A lot of things were very well done. And the world that was created may not be my favorite, but it was very well established and immersive. Some things in it I didn’t like as much as Nolan’s, but some things I liked better.
That was a very overrated movie.

I mean, film is subjective. Some will prefer this over TDK, and vice versa. Others like me, have Batman Begins at the top. What's exciting for me is Reeves' going to get a chance to expand this world. I'm really excited to see the Arkham show he's working on. I've been wanting to see something like that for years
