Around pitch 80 especially in the top of the 5th should have been an indication that Money wasn't getting that extra sauce on his pitches any longer and should have been pulled(too many fresh arms in waiting). I mean in his other games, he has shown he loses effectiveness around 75 pitches in and upward. Lsu only had 2 runs after 4 complete(not Money's fault) and that makes everything magnified for the pitcher. With 2 runners on, Gervase should have come in. Yes, Money did get lucky with the 2 outs(k,popup) still up 2-0. That was CJJ'S 2nd chance to get Money out of there and yet again nothing.

Note to CJJ.

Please get used to accepting that games in the sec may have and can end up 2-1, 3-2, 4-3 wins for lsu etc. Not all times will we score 8/10 plus runs i.e. Pac 12. Yes we made errors but the glaring difference was not following the science on paper by not pulling his pitcher. 100 plus pitches after 4.2 innings? Yikes.

BTW, if Crews hits that ball anywhere else in the alleys or lines, he walks it off. That's baseball there!

Geaux Tigers and good luck this evening.

Great breakdown .
If you look at the series versus
Florida . Money and Hillard could have been pulled earlier. These moves could have prevented big innings later . The Tiger’s bullpen is their strength. I would like to see JJ trust the bullpen and go to it earlier.

Agreed and it has been proven productive I think against Florida and now Auburn both of Money's starts the last 2 sec weekends relief came in and gave up no more runs with Collins being both of those games and pitches shut outs in his innings of relief.

Tonight, I hope Hilliard will be closely watched that at any sign of ineffectiveness, a potential extended inning, high pitch count etc that we go to the pen immediately.

I made a thread earlier about Money and Hillard’s struggles.

I agree for the most part. But at the same time, you have to expect your Friday night guy to get out of that jam. Especially with Hilliard pitching today, you know he’s either going to be really good for 4-5 innings, or he’s getting rocked in the 1st inning. With that in mind, you NEED Money to get out of that jam to save arms for the series. You’d much rather save Gervase for if/when Hilliard gets in trouble today. My guess is that’s that logic he was following leaving Money out there too long.
