Yes, that's right and context will tell you Brennan carried the team. If you think otherwise, you didn't watch the games. His oline was fricking atrocious and he had zero run game help. Not to mention the defense put pressure on him due to being historically bad. He got sacked like 7-8 times just in the Miss State game. If you still don't think the numbers he put up was impressive then you don't know football. That team was different by the end of the year than what Brennan played with. Bad team all year but better than what he had. You can't be picky about redzone offense when they put the yards and points up they did. They were bad calls anyone with eyes could see the redzone play calling wasn't good. I love E but this is where Brady removed that weakness on LSU's offense even Steve admitted this. Plain and simple.
I'm pulling for him too but I don't know if ever recovered after 2 years.

None of this has anything to do with the present day or the fact that Kelly/Denbroke want a QB with mobility and Daniels provides that while Brennan doesnt.

I'm willing to bet that Kelly and Denbrooke are flexible enough to realize that a QB making good decisions with the ball is more important than how fast a QB can run. Maybe it will be Daniels. Maybe not.

Yeah.
And a lot of people keep saying “RPO doesn’t require a mobile qb”. No, it doesn’t. But that’s not the issue for Brennan. The issue is that Denbrock prefers a QB with mobility. So Brennan also has that working against him. I wish him luck.

I supposed I'm pulling for him to be the best, and THEN thus earn the starting job. Sure, I'll get behind that.
But ultimately if he's not the best, then no.
No seniority handouts, that's not how you win titles. And I don't believe CBK believes in that stuff at all.

Likewise, if a lightning fast QB make poor decisions with the ball, that limits the offense.
There are no absolutes - it's a sliding scale.

Yep. And I think Nuss is being wrote off a bit here. I think it's likely that we see 2 quarterbacks take significant snaps this season.

Right. So it becomes about likelihood. Predicting the starter right now doesn’t mean shite, but likelihood points to Daniels at the moment. No Brennan is not out of it. It’s a competition right now. And until we see Brennan do something on tape under this system, we have to go by what we know and see. And right now, I think Daniels has the best opportunity. But we’ll see.

And the two QB thing is possible. Until someone takes it. But that’s only if someone doesn’t take it before then. We’ll know when we see it.

Brennan would limit this offense to half of the playbook being effective
Your hope should be in Nuss and Daniels

I quit caring when the dude went from bean pole to post college 30 year old former frat star dad bod.
He did not stay in shape.
Matt mauck gets injured and betters himself by working on his passing.
Brennan looks like he spent the time at bogies.
This is the second time and second staff who brought in another qb.
I will have no problem if Brennan wins the job.
That doesn’t mean I have to root for him out of some sentimental thing

Whenever you bring up Brennan looking out of shape, it pisses people off. But it’s just an observation. It’s an observation referring to how it will affect him on the field. In a system that is going to require some mobility.

“A lot of people hate hearing that Daniels is intending to go to the nfl. Maybe even after this season. He’s not here to chill. We know this as fact. This is business. He’s not coming here unless he has a legit chance to play immediately.”
The same damn thing can be said about Brennan. After 6 years he’s intending on going to the NFL. DEFINITELY after this season. He did not stay for a sixth year to chill. We know this as a fact. This is a business. Brennan did not stay to sit the bench and not play immediately! He will be the starter in 2022.
And you better hope so.

Absolutely it’s business for him too. Its a qb competition. That was referring to people saying Daniels has no intentions to start immediately. I think 3 of the qbs believe they are ready and good enough to start. I don’t want them if they don’t

Are you suggesting that Denbrock isn't capable of fitting the offense to his quarterbacks strengths?

Hell, Denbrock could adapt his offense if I was the QB to fit my strengths. But it would be a terrible offense.

Based on his past work with QBs? Maybe. Though Brennan may lack the athleticism for an RPO, he's actually a good fit everywhere else for the RPO offense Denbrock likes to run. He's definitely a better passer than Daniels so the question comes down to what they value the most. If you think legs on the ground and minimum throwing is winning you SEC games it's going to be welcome to the SEC fast. It can work but the execution would need to be excellent similar to our 2011 team when we were incredibly efficient with Lee throwing the ball. That's speculation though. BK is the one who courted Brennan to come back not the other way around. He convinced him he could work great in this offense. I doubt they promised Daniels anything. It's a good problem for LSU to have. The best QB will win the job.
If Emery reaches his potential you don't need extra legs on the ground. Now, if Emery is at his potential and Daniels has shown nice progression with his passing then that gives you a layer that Brennan could never touch and makes an offense dangerous since he has the added running ability. To this point though, he hasn't reached it or come close to it. We've only seen a small sample size to Brennan too so it's really difficult to say what we have in him. LSU couldn't miss an opportunity like Daniels to give him a shot because his talent is there. It should also be said if WRs are not happy they will enter the transfer portal. I just can't see passing being anything but a priority for the QB position. Legs are secondary and I'm sorry to say so far, Daniels has not shown progression in his passing. I have a hard time believing he's there in a few months time.

I will say this, Kelly asked Brennan to come back before having an oc and before Daniels was even on the market. It was a qb mass exodus. Brennan and max both went into the portal. All they had was Nuss. So absolutely you want to try to get those guys back. So Kelly asking Brennan to stay doesn’t mean much in my eyes based on the circumstances. Just my opinion.

He knew who his guy was it just wasn't official yet. I highly doubt he sold anything to Brennan without knowing who his OC was. Denbrock's scheme loves the deep ball and that's to Brennan's strength who's a very accurate deep ball thrower. More disciplined defenses will take the top away like you saw Bama do to them. They use the run to set the pass up. I can see Daniels getting it if he's efficient enough as a passer. If he's like his previous stop he's not getting the job, imo.
