Hurt was looking kind of frail/feeble in Black Widow and yet there was still talk of Hurt playing Red Hulk and leading the (anti-hero) Thunderbolts in an MCU spin-off series.
I was thinking,"Unless they start filming right now, I don't think he's gonna make it for more than one season." Looks like he wouldn't have even made it that far.

I was obsessed with Altered States. When Hurt's next movie (Eyewitness) came out, I ran out and bought the eyeglasses he wore.

Sad. Great actor
I enjoyed him in almost every performance. 71 seems young for a man with resources to look after his health. He didn't strike me as living a Sheen type lifestyle
