I know it's all bullshite but it could be a real possibility. They hate LSU basketball and aren't going to lay the hammer down on a blue blood. Hopefully this doesn't happen. frick you Pat Forde

LSU won’t even be put in the “time out” corner.

Purely gut feeling but I feel like they are out to make more of an example out of Wade, and not the LSU program as a whole.

Agreed. He's ruffled some blueblood feathers.

Repeat after me, the NCAA has a major evidence problem. There is no evidence out there that is usable under NCAA bylaws.

I've addressed this several time over the past 3 years, the "tape" is not usable evidence under the NCAA bylaws. The tape is considered "anonymous sourced information" because was leaked to the media by Dawkins defense team. The recording was never used by the DOJ in any proceeding and never produced by the DOJ to the NCAA.

To my knowledge, the only other information the NCAA has is Dawkins interview on HBO, which again is not sufficient information to serve as grounds for sanctions.

The NCAA did obtain Wade's text messages and emails, interviewed Wade, interviewed Smart, interviewed Smart's family. The other allegations against Wade were coaches trying to turn him in. The biggest name out there is Leonard Hamilton turning him in over Darius Days.

Does the NCAA want to get him, absolutely. Does the NCAA have an evidence problem, absolutely.

The NCAA even admitted that the Dawkins tape could only be used for discussion purposes when they interviewed Wade.

I expect the NOA to contain serious allegations (maybe even L1 allegations), but I also think that the NCAA lacks evidence to turn those allegations into findings of violations.

My bigger concern is that Woody attempts to "save" football and uses the option under Wade's amended contract that allows Wade to be fired for cause if any L1 allegations are made (regardless of whether they are proven).

Wade isn’t going anywhere. Will get a raise and an apology when this is over.

Death Penalty for doing what exactly?

Seems like a massive lawsuit for the NCAA to punish a team with zero evidence but whatever

The last time a school got the death penalty was the last time any school will get the death penalty.

For fricks sake Penn State got basically a slap on the wrist for running and covering up a child molestation ring.

If that didn’t get the death penalty, nothing WW may or may not have done will get it.

For the last time: DEATH PENALTY IN COLLEGE SPORTS NO LONGER EXISTS.

Wade has already sat out playoff games, Smart had sat out a couple of games. We had some self discipline and self penalizing done already, they have to account for that I would think.

If LSU denies, denies, denies, they will run out the clock. The NCAA is a fading institution. NIL has basically put them out of business. Just stall stall stall and it will all go away. Only those that admit and self impose sanctions ever get hurt badly.
All the good teams cheat cheat cheat. If penalized, a team was just poor at cheating. Admittedly, WW was not good at it. Hopefully he has learned a few things.
