No ranged weapons, both are mounted on horseback

Then knight. Easily

Samurai were archers first and didn't have real armor.

Knights can’t get “The Glow”. I’m going with Bruce Leroy on this one.

This.

Also, we have this skewed view of how knights fought due to movies.

I ascribe to the Michael Crichton “Timeline” version of knights, where sword fighting is more like fencing than the slow fighting they show in movies.

That slow, overweight fighting doesn’t make sense in reality.

Armor and weapons give knight the easy edge. I can’t imagine it would be easy stabbing thru the armor of a knight with a katana.

Knight, easily. Heavier horse, heavier weapons, heavier mass, thicker armor.

He’d outrange the Samurai and that armor? Pfft

Even with a typical mounted Samurai weapon the knight wins

Knight easily, too armored and weaponry designed for maximum power. Katana made for slicing, no use versus armor.

A knight on a heavy warhorse would be able to just run over the samurai.

Until the Samurai starts dancing around making the knight sweat profusely inside that armor.

English longbows wrecked French knights.
Where do Samurai bows measure up to longbows?

What’s the terrain? Season? Also, they are both mounted so the speed of the horse is more important than the speed of the man.

Well, since they are Japanese, naturally the length is shorter.

How long are they fighting? In short fight go with the knight, over 10 minutes I will take the Samurai.

Unfair fight though, Samurai were incredible accurate archers and it was there best weapon
