I mean I guess it's a step up from ISIS videos where captured Syrian and Iranian pilots were forced to read text about how they were the invaders and guilty and then later were burned or drowned alive in cages, but this is giving me distant vibes of that.

How do you know they didn’t get those when an explosion went off and blew them into a wall or something. Maybe the fighting was hand to hand and they got knocked out. I don’t know how you can look at that pic and automatically jump to war crimes.

That isn't nearly as perplexing and seeing prisoners of war with signs of abuse and not think abuse is the most likely reason.

Maybe the other Russians these guys was captured with jumped them and beat the shite out of them for cooperating with the Ukrainian Forces. Who knows or cares. All I know is I don’t look at a prisoner with a black eye and think automatic war crime. For all we know these guys was being raped like happens in prison a lot.

These are pilots that ejected from their exploding planes. Ejection is a pretty violent process. Doesn’t mean they were abused.

Yes, it's a desperate measure. Just like Taliban, ISIS "freedom fighters", we again armed an unstable region with billions of lethal aid and military equipment that probably in the next 15-20 years will again blow in everyone's face.
A government that had a coup in 2014 and civil/proxy war with separatists and Russia for 8 years.Bizarre.
