I got a quote today 100ft, treated, 6 feet with a side gate for $6100. Granted there's a big water oak on the property line so it may take extra craftsmanship but over $60/ft?

Jeezus Christ that's high. I figured it would be about 4500(45/ft) with one gate.

Material is high but whoever gave you that price is an idiot.

Was that pine or cedar?

Not sure of an exact number but it's crazy high right now so that could be correct.

If you are willing to pay me $4500 for 100 LF of pine fence I will come do it tomorrow and gladly put $3300 in my pocket. Material for that is $1200 give or take

Over $2 and rising. Used to hang out around $.97 to $1.29 depending on the time of year.

6 months ago I had 306 ft, 8ft fence, 3 rails and top plate, 2 four ft gates and 4x6 posts installed for $12K.

My other bid was 22K.

here's the quote breakdown
pickets 1240
posts 840
runners 1440
concrete 400
nails 285
delivery 80
teardown 275
labor 1500

I was going to run this across with a lumber company but thought to ask around here first.

I built 340’ of fence in 2018 for $6.70 a ft for under $2,300 at my house, including hardware for two gates. 10 more ft and I would have been an OT fence builder.

$65/LF is outrageous even with the inflation that has place since. Get more quotes.

That's what the quotes are coming in at. I'm not paying you shite, stout. You'll work 20 minutes and frick off on the OT for 40 minutes every hour. It'll never get finished.

Damn. I absolutely hate building fences but I think I might have to get over that with current prices

100LF of fence is 200 pickets. That's $428 in materials

Was this guy a retard?

Yeah, two more are coming next week. Only reason I called this company first is the "great" google reviews.

Here I ran a rough estimate through Repairbase for you real quick. Repairbase is a national estimating software that updates every day based on market prices and goes by zip codes

Anything much more than this is too much. As I said, materials for that job should be around $1200.
