He destroys enough of the Ukraine until his new Russian regions are recognized and the NATO puppets get the message that when you cut off fresh water to Crimea you get the stick.

He slowly, methodically strangles the Ukraine and has a brutal occupation. He uses his KGB knowledge and methods to destroy the opposition. He will survive all the sanctions and hostility from the Allies. Eventually, the Germans and the rest of Europe will cave and do nothing further, and life will go back to “normal”. In the end Putin will be in control because there is no opposition in Russia.

Depends on Putin. A brutal occupation of Ukraine will likely see what remains that hasn't been sanctioned will be.
The longer this plays out, the higher the likelihood something stupid happens, causing other Actors to become involved.

Putin claims to be deeply devoted to the Virgin Mary as does joe biden. So, we have one devotee attacking a country unprovoked and another staunchly advocating for the killing of unborn babies.
I believe both are in for a rude awakening at some point in their futures.

He will eventually be deposed, violently if necessary. The oligarchs will not stand idly by and watch their fortunes collapse.
In the short term this could get ugly. Without NATO intervention, Ukraine will fall. But then Russia will have to hold the territory against insurgents. Never ending violence.
And then Putin will invade Finland, and maybe NATO will realize war is inevitable.
Meanwhile, China is gauging the best time to move on Taiwan...
