Taylor Made M4 Irons

My son is a freshman on his HS golf team and has outgrown his clubs. For the time being he's playing my irons. We found some TM M4 irons for $599 and are considering buying them for him with the hopes that they will last him all through HS and beyond.
Can anyone here please give me some info on these irons?
Do they hold up?
Read a few negative reviews online but they were from 2018.

Man I thought so too at first, until I did some research and realize that all clubs prices are through the roof right now. Even used clubs.

If your looking at used TaylorMade irons only.
It will hard to beat the Tour Preferred MC irons.
Definitely a set a young golfer can grow into.
If your open to other clubs check Callaway Preowned.

That price is way to high.
M4s we’re very meh irons.
Your better off getting some p790s or something in that category.
M4 is a full on cast construction game improvement irons. It’s made to help players get the ball up in the air and go as straight as possible. As a youngster, ball flight shouldn’t be an issue. He will balloon those things.

Some club manufacturers have discounts for high school players that made the team .
I know PXG has one according to their social media, Ping and Titleist should as well. The Coach may have to contact them.
Some Pawn Shops in affluent areas have some unbelievable Club deals.

OP - if your son likes golf and is relatively good, dont buy him a set of GI irons.
For that price, I am seeing good deals on Ping i series, Srixon z585's, PXG Gen 1's, along with the others. Many way better options for that budget.

I should clarify the TM M4 irons for $599 are new at Edwin Watts. They have them at other places for the same price.

My set is 2019.
9 iron was 40 degrees.
New set 9 iron is 37.
Basically a club stronger for the new ones.
