I know its MM but I honestly believe all of this.
One thing I never really get about local media(not really talking about MM here lol) is they seem to all know all of these things, never report them, and when we all found out, they say "We've been trying to tell you all along"
Why do they never come out flatly and just say what they know? Is it just fear of losing contacts with the org?

But every time local media is even remotely critical of anything or anyone relating to local teams, the fanbases immediately lose their shite and go nuclear on the reporter. Without fail, it happens every single time.

Spoiler: it's because most of them don't actually know anything. In particular this has been a MM shtick for years.
Piggyback on some recently reported thing, or add fuel to a speculative fire, "report" plausible but largely non-falsifiable speculation reported as insider knowledge, then months later claim you were there breaking news at the time, hoping people forget the timeline of events and conflate your piggybacking for actual insight. If you miss, and MM misses 9 times out of 10, just don't bring it up again and hope the addled brains of sports junkie consumers forget as well.
