Any word on when the hawks and other older SAM systems will reach Ukraine?

It was a month ago that the US announced that the money for the HAWKs refurbishment had been allocated.

That process is clearly not yet complete, because we haven't included the HAWKs in any drawdown announcement yet.

The good news is that Spain has already donated its HAWKs, so any additional training time for Ukrainians to use US HAWKs should be minimal.

I’m glad we are giving JDAMs and Patriots to Ukraine but the longer this goes on the more they need artillery, both towed and self propelled, as well as a tanks. Eventually Russia is going to pull together a Russia style attack with a shite ton of artillery followed right up with a lot of armor. I’m honestly surprised it hasn’t happened already. I believe the debacle outside Kyiv at the start of the war really made the Russians a little gunshy about mass attacks. JDAMs are great when you have air superiority and as great as the Ukrainian pilots have shown so far eventually it comes down to brute numbers and they are woefully outnumbered in the air and Russia has air to air missiles that can hit Ukrainian aircraft from twice the range of Ukrainian missiles. A JDAM is still a dumb bomb though that while guided has to be dead dropped from the air which means the Ukrainian pilots will have to get within 15 miles or so of their target to deliver the bomb from altitude. I’m sure they will go in with fighter cover sending HARMs out in front of them but it’s still a very risky proposition. Somehow, from somewhere Ukraine is going to need 200 more artillery pieces and 300 tanks and I just have no idea where they are going to come from. We don’t have the artillery pieces in our arsenal to send and not many countries besides South Korea do either. Time is Ukraine’s greatest enemy. The second they are able to amount an offensive they have to do it. Not trying to sound negative, just how I see things at the moment.
