This is a verse in Scripture that seems to help provide guidance to Believers.
Matthew 5:38-40 ESV
“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also."
Could the above be interpreted as Jesus extolling discipline, extreme prejudice and discernment (and even an evil one a couple of free pokes) before righteous justification of engagement (resisting) and self-defense?

Great OP! 
All we can do is Truct Him. I believe that's why unbearable stuff is thrown at us in life. It puts us in a place where there is no other place to turn to - just Him. He never waivers (like we do). His faith in us is always more than ours is in Him. What a wonderful Daddy we have.

Sounds insane, right? But not a lot different from morons that view government, climate change, racism, a pretty mild virus (unless you're way old, way fat or way unwell) with religious fervor.
The small faction of the Right that puts Trump on a pedestal - you can say "cult-like" as long as you're willing to say the same thing about 85% of Biden voters.
