He showed complete disregard for Floyd’s life and his actions directly led to Floyd’s death. However, he did not intend to kill him. Even the most horrific serial killers wouldn’t kill someone intentionally while being filmed and observed by multiple people. Intent is not required for second degree murder in Minnesota, so I can’t say they got it wrong legally, but I personally believe intent is paramount and should be required. Thoughts?

You could say the same thing about George Floyd.

Do you know what someone overdosing on opiates looks like? They just nod off and pass out, they aren’t in any way frantic like Floyd was.

I don't blame him for anything. Floyd was acting like a fricking maniac right up until he died.

Put myself in the shoes of restraining a documented violent criminal and while i hope i would have done it differently, I can't honestly say I would or could have.

They are when they are struggling and realize they’ve made a fatal mistake and know it’s about to kick in and kill them. Hence “I ate too many drugs.”

George OD’ed while being arrested a few months prior because he ate all the drugs as he was being arrested. They saved him at the hospital.

He did the same thing this time. Ate all the drugs right before he was being arrested. They found half chewed pills in the back of the cop car with his saliva on them.

You probably never heard any of that before right?

Hate to ruin your martyrs image, but the pills killed him

I didn't think he deserved life in prison but as politicized as the case was it was probably inevitable.

My first though is you should stop thinking. I'm not sure you have the proper tools for that action.

Well they stop breathing many times. I’m a paramedic and have worked 100s if not 1,000s of opioid overdoses. They can be frantic beforehand and damn sure after some narcan.

Decreased respiratory rate isn’t the only way a speed ball (fentanyl/meth) can kill you.

The guy had 90% blockage of his coronary arteries. Popping speedballs like tic tacs made him a ticking time bomb.

You are ignoring what is staring you right in the face because you want to seem like you are taking the moral middle ground

Regardless of Floyd's actions or character, that cop deserves severe punishment based on what I saw. He camped out on his neck when he had him in custody. It was needless and cruel. He did it because he could. It seemed normal to him and the other officers.

More cops need to be held accountable for their abuse of power.

He wouldn’t have died if he didn’t try to pass fake money and act suspect in a market.

He shouldn't be in jail.

Floyd should be answering for counterfeit currency.

But in reality if Floyd didn't overdose that day, he would have some other day and we would have wasted precious resources trying to save him.

Tell me you didn’t watch the entire bodycam video without telling me you didn’t watch the entire bodycam video

George had about 10 chances to peacefully get in the car. They were even going to roll the windows down for him.

Then he started kicking and fighting everyone and asked to be put on the ground.

Chauvin had his knee on his arm and upper part of the back. Even the prosecution admitted that.
