Greens are atrocious, very thin and covered in poa annua..I thought they used to be able to spray and kill the invasive grass

I went over the summer and it was horrible. The greens were completely covered in crab grass. My golf ball looked like a dirtbike on a Rocky Mountain trail every putt.

I’m normally an easy going dude and I was legitimately pissed that they charged full price ($60 at the time) for a course in that bad of shape.

The Harvey 9 out there is a joke. They need to abandon that and pump that money into the actual course. It’s actually improved since pre Covid conditions if you can believe it.

That's a shame. A few months back it was actually in decent shape.

Poa Annua has become resistant to many of the pesticides we have in our aresenal. so has the Goose grass that plagues greens and collars in the summer / fall time frame. there aren't a lot of options out there that are labeled for greens that work anymore, and the few that are are very expensive or are resistant. it will become a bigger issue year after year until a new pesticide comes out that controls it.

It’s a shame they let it go to shite. It’s actually a decent layout. Number 4 with the water all along the left is a great hole.

I was able to talk to the golf course superintendent and he told me that the Poa Annua is resistant to the herbicides that they can spray on the greens. This seems to be an issue at some other clubs we have played. I guess golf courses will go back to overseeding greens for the winter.

i will not be overseeding greens again. the new ultra dwarf bermuda grasses do not transition well after being overseeded.

That’s disappointing to hear. I’ve played there a lot in the past but haven’t played there in about a year

Yea it can be a fun course and good value for how much it cost. Played last weekend and greens were absurd. Might as well just hope ball bounced around and landed near the cup.
