Well, all he has to do is sell his system to another few high schools (at $3000 a pop) to finish paying off his double wide.

Here is the link to Tony's profile at the Auburn website:

While I didn't know much about him, the resume looks a little thin to be named offensive coordinator at Auburn. Unless I'm missing something, what was it that made him a great hire?

Of course, the Auburn offense, no offense, is what did him in.

Man, with the success Saban is having in locking up the state's top talent, Auburn picked the wrong time to take a chance on this guy. I think their days may be numbered as far as being a serious threat in the SEC.

Per Chris Low on Espn.

Whittling down the spread: Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville insists that the Tigers are committed to the spread offense and aren't scrapping it in midseason. That said, the Tigers continue to whittle down the playbook in an effort to find something that works for them consistently. They had success in the first quarter against Vanderbilt in their two-tight end run formation, something Arkansas can expect to see more of this Saturday. The Tigers are still going to be in the shotgun a bunch, but look for more power running sets along the way.

Guess they were not that committed. The article is dated today.

Tony Franklin is to Auburn's offense what Tepper was to LSU's defense.

Their offense sucked before Franklin got there.

They finished 97th in total O last season.

It's a good example of trying to run a system before you have the horses. Tepper was another great example.

You are correct. You gotta give Tubberville credit for acknowledging the mistake and canning him. Dinardo could not bring himself to admit that Tepper was a mistake and it cost him his job.

I don't think the players exist to make Tepper's D work.
