72 F , keeping the heat own is cheaper than having to bring wife (no pics) to the doctor.

74 at thermostat, but my wife and daughter have both our fireplaces going usually. So, I'm left sweating like a pig unless I retire to my cool and crisp garage.

I’m in MA, and in the winter we usually leave thermostat at 63 in day and 60 at night.
House has R60 insulation in attic, ceiling joists and basement perimeter joists etc all sealed with foam, walls insulated with blown in cellulose. So it feels warmer in our home than others with less insulation and higher thermostat temp.
Weil-Mclane Gold series energy star Oil furnace as primary heat, with an 80 gallon Triangle Tube indirect water heater which is basically = free hot water in the winter. Also have Mitsubishi Hyper Heat ductless mini’s throughout house, but primarily use them for AC in summer.
Next on our list is a wood stove insert with electric fans, and a 100% self-owned solar panel setup hooked up to some sort of deep-cycle battery system with ability to switch to in order to power essentials in emergencies.

The cheapest way to increase the heat of a house is to just go outside in tshirt/shorts for a couple minutes then come back inside. Magically it feels really warm inside.
