How about this LSUDonkeyKong...

1) a lot of these people are a new generation of saints fan.

2)Maybe most of the people on this post were still a little young when the saints were causing fans to wear paper bags on their head not in their forties working dead end jobs at this time.

3)Yes the tiger stadium season was a poor turnout week in and week out (I was at every game and the lack of attendance did not show much support)

If you are the fan you claim to be you should be aware that Saints fans are THE ONLY fans that will talk every week about giving up on the saints cause they are playing shitty and then make it a point to be one of two places during game time...The Dome or in front of a TV.

The kids are not idiots and they know when they are dealing with an old man. Just because they were not around watch the saints at Tulane Stadium or get an autograph from IronHead, they are fans none the less just like you.

This is what I equate this position to:

"I gonna stop being a fan of action movies. I spend all this time watching them and sometimes I don't like the ending. Then I realize that the movie producer and the actors don't care about me and they make too much money. I'm just gonna be a casual fan from now on and read rottentomatoes.com for the summary.
On second thought, maybe I'll just become a fan of comedies.
You are all stupid for thinking action movies are great"

Donkey,

If you are so casual a fan of LSU and only an observer of the Saints, why in the hell do you have over 600 posts a month on these boards?

I'll defend you, LSUDonkeyKong.

This thread is a perfect example of the sort of blind anger that is ruining the moral fabric of our country. More specifically, you people have such an idiosyncratic idea of what it means to be a fan that you are outraged by someone who simply has a different notion. These kinds of reactions are moral reactions, don't you people see that? He has done nothing morally wrong! Why do you call someone stupid simply for recognizing how often the Saints ruin his mood?

Frankly, this past game has made me admit what I always knew: being a Saints fan is like being in an abusive relationship. For some people, there is a limit to the emotional beatings we take before ending the relationship. Sure, some fans are in love with the team and will never leave no matter how horrible it makes their lives. Love, however, is a two-way relationship, so why do the Saints so rarely give us anything back?

You seem like a smart guy. Now go jump off a bridge.

Go pick up a TO jersey, pal. Then people you meet on the street will truly know that you have the heart of a champion.

Everything being said about the Saints could equally apply to LSU from the late 80s to Saban's arrival. They more or less specialized in gut wrenching losses and were the the laughingstock of the SEC. Christ, even Moo State was better at one point.

Oakland should take notes from Miami's offense this yr. They'd be a little entertaining to watch..

In fact, during 2005 how many people showed up in Tiger Stadium to watch the Saints play? I know all you white boys weren't displaced. Oh, thats right. Hardly any of you.

The super fans strike again.

Everybody on this board showed up at Tiger Stadium in 2005. The SAINTS had more people there than LSU the day before, record crowds in Tiger Stadium to support their beloved SAINTS in time of need.lol.
