We don't have porpoises in Louisiana, they're dolphin...

There is a lot of confusion between what is a porpoise and what is a dolphin especially here in south Louisiana; allow me to clarify

The "Porpoises" You See In Grand Isle are Dolphin

quote:

At that time, I was told by every fishermen elderly or young that the dolphins I was seeing where “porpoises,” not dolphins. I believed this till just the other day when I randomly decided to wiki what the difference between a porpoise and a dolphin was. I found there are several distinctions between dolphins and porpoises; and was shocked to find that what my father had been telling me where “porpoises” my entire life are in fact bottlenose dolphins.

While both porpoises and dolphins are part of the family Delphinidae, there are visible distinctions.

For all intensive porpoises, they all taste the same with hot sauce.

Taxi
(A scout from the Miami Dolphins calls the garage. Rev Jim answers the phone)

REV JIM: "Hello, who is this? The Miami Dolphins? (to the cabbies) "Hey everybody, I'm talking to a fish!" (into the phone) "Oh I'm sorry, I mean mammal."

Thank you. I learned something from this. Now if you could clear up Falcon/Hawk, Turtle/Tortoise and Frog/Toad I’ll be able to redeem myself in the eyes of my toddler.
