Republicans Losing Redistricting Battle to Aggressive Democrats

Stupid people...

Republicans across the nation are losing the redistricting battle that will shape November’s midterm elections and ultimately Joe Biden’s presidency.
With Republican state legislatures in control of reshaping 187 districts while Democrats only control 75, Republican legislatures had an opportunity to wreak havoc on Democrat-leaning districts, splitting them up with district lines that benefit Republican candidates.
But in multiple red states, Republicans have not drawn Republican-favoring district maps. In blue states, however, Democrats have been very aggressive.

The reports have indicated Democrat legislatures are aggressively drawing lines in states such as Illinois, New Mexico, Oregon, Maryland, California, New Jersey, Nevada, and likely New York, while Republican legislatures have failed to draw strong lines in Missouri, Indiana, and Georgia.

One thing I can respect about the Dems and the Progs is they are motivated, organized and fight like hell. Republicans are too nice.

It's 2022... we should be able to let a computer draw lines with no political motivations.
But this is something where if the Dems are going to do this, and if we can't stop them... then we need to do the same damn thing where we can.
But then again... too many GOPers WANT to be in the minority party.

Those durn Democrats are just too strong for us.
Sure. That's the problem. Republicans are desperate to give seats away to keep themselves from having to make any decisions. The Washington Generals lose again.

Just like we should be able to let a computer count our votes.

Breitbart left out the state of Washington, who fricked it up so much that the left-wing state supreme court had to admonish the committee.

Republicans don’t want to be the Majority. They like being abused by the Democrats. Losing redistricting fights will help them stay in the minority.

The law states that districts can’t be gerrymandered for political reasons but can be gerrymandered for racial reasons.
Republicans got totally duped on that one.
Republicans are also soft and don’t want bad press or to be called racist.

Eh. We’ve quarantined the Democrats to two house seats. One in Kansas City. One in St. Louis. Not sure there’s more to do than that.

Dems play hardball while the Republican establishment plays badminton and worries about Trump disrupting their beloved swamp again.

It's why the "cuck" label was so fitting. Repubs are inviting their single buddy over to hang out cause they're such good guys in their own heads. Dems are banging the Repub's wife while he's at work just because he can.

They are too afraid of being called RACISTS and GERRYMANDERS by the media.
Democrats play to win.
Democrats play to win.

If I had assurances the computer was not hacked... I'd trust a computer to count votes over the counting parties in most Democrat cities.

I'm glad more and more people are starting to figure this out.

I can't read this on top of everything else going on the past few days.

Misleading clickbait.

State law prevents this in alot of circumstances.

Illinois and Oregon are the only two that would been considered "aggressive" to an objective observer. Some of those are also drawn by independent commissions--not sure what you wanted the GOP to do in those instances.
The GOP has done pretty well for itself in NC, aligning 11 of the 14 districts to be GOP-held, as well as Texas where it solidified most of those purple leaning seats. The GOP also drew a favorable new map in AZ
quote:
while Republican legislatures have failed to draw strong lines in Missouri, Indiana, and Georgia.
Missouri does not have a new map yet. Georgia's is an improvement over the current map and should result in the GOP gaining an additional seat. What exactly did you want from Indiana--them to totally remove the blue districts somehow? It is also an improvement for the GOP, as it moved a tossup district into the red column north of Indy.
OP, point to a state specifically where the GOP has failed to redistrict according to your liking? The ones listed in the article ain't it.
