and how many combined majors does the rest of the tennis world have combined among active players? I'd say if only 3 guys have managed to master a sport that is played worldwide, then that sport is pretty damn hard to master

scratch amateurs are very, very unlikely to shoot in the 70s in PGA tour event conditions. The difference between an every day scratch golfer and a PGA touring professional is miles wide. It would be very very improbable they don't finish a PGA tour event DFL

I agree with you, my point was more so that no one has ever really “mastered” hitting a baseball and we have three guys that you could argue have all mastered tennis at it’s highest level all around the same time.
I guess mastered is subjective. Since baseball is such a sport of failure it depends on how you quantify having mastered it.

Michael Jordan played AA baseball after doing nothing but playing basketball since he was 16.
I didn't even say golf was harder to master. That was just a poor take. Curry finished 10 shots worse than anyone else in a tour event that is below the top level of golf. I wouldn't say that is a good example of how a good amateur player can avoid getting worked by professionals.
The bottom line is there is no professional sport where an amateur wouldn't get dominated by pros. I don't think any sport is a "ridiculous" answer
And let's not get it twisted. Curry plays plenty of golf. He's not a +1.5 handicap casually playing in the off-season. He's also an elite professional athlete. Guys with his natural athletic ability have a good shot being successful at a variety of different sports if they choose to commit a reasonable amount of time to them. The list of guys who have played multiple sports at the college and even professional level isn't exactly small.

And again, I never said golf was the hardest sport to master. Pointing out poor takes is not mutually exclusive with arguing golf is the most difficult. I did the same for a poor take someone had about tennis

She beat multiple pros in round 1. That’s called being actual competitive against t the men. Serena would be embarrassed and not remotely competitive.
