Ricky Jean-Francois Quotes

I like the swagger that these quotes represent, but is this a little over the top and considered "bulletin board" material?

Ricky Jean-Francois and his "Car Wreck" defense are after Tim Tebow
Meet Ricky Jean-Francois. If the picture doesn't do the Tigers defensive tackle justice, check out this clip of him working out. When I talked with Jean-Francois last week, he said his defensive line getting a clean shot on a quarterback like Tim Tebow equates to "a car wreck without a seat belt."
Let the Florida-LSU week officially begin, folks.
"If we get a good shot on (Tebow), we're going to try our best to take him out of the game," Jean-Francois said. "With his size and his heart, it's hard to get a clean shot."
When asked how Tebow might deal with the pain of an LSU hit, Jean-Francois said "If he does get hurt, there's a trained medical staff at Florida, so you can go to the training room on Sunday."
That's one dude I wouldn't want to anger. In fairness, Jean-Francois and his fellow lineman Tyson Jackson both expressed a respect for Tebow and his toughness in last week's interviews. But that doesn't mean they don't want to lay him out, Jean-Francois said.
"I think every lineman wants to get a good hit on a Heisman Trophy winner," Jean-Francois said.
The Gators are going to have to avoid more than big hits in order to rebound from last year's 28-24 loss that included LSU's five straight fourth-down conversions. Jean-Francois said the fourth downs and Jacob Hester's touchdown run with 1:09 left "took the life out of them."
Gators linebacker Brandon Hicks said the defense is playing with revenge in mind. Florida practiced Sunday night and will be off on Monday.
"OK, this is the game," Hicks said. "This week, there's nothing else that really matters. There's no worrying about the bye week after LSU. It's just nothing but 8 p.m. this Saturday night. We've got a chip on our shoulders, a fire in our eyes to kick somebody's butt."

Besides if they need "bulletin board material" to get hyped up for this game they're gonna have a problem.

STFU Ricky do your talking on the field

Who cares if it is bulletin board material. It shows the toughness of our team and their focus to go in there and win the game. I hate it when teams talk about how good the other team is, you know they don't really mean it. If you're a competitor, you want to beat the shite out of the other guy, not compliment him.

Honestly I think that's respect, not bulliten board material.

P.S. When asked......what defensive lineman would NOT say if he had a chance to take a QB out he'd do it. I don't mean like kill or severely maim the guy. I mean take him out of the game so he is ineffective. It's kind of his job.
I remember Iowa playin Wisconsin 5 odd years ago. They took out the 1st and second string QB's and by the end of the game the 3rd string was limpin around too. It's football, not hopscotch.

After all his youtube videos and talk this summer, I expected more. He needs to make another video to edit the number 1 pick crap.

I have always disliked trash talking before a game because those trash talkers usually lose the game.

Not good. He shouldn't say this stuff, even if it's true. Hit him as hard as we can, yes. Try to injure him? No. This is needless motivation for Florida and sounds almost like dirty play.

Yeah, and I'm sure the Gators will make sure to read the whole quote and do their best to divine its true meaning. Surely they wouldn't take part of it out of context to use as bulletin material, right?

They're gonna try and Chaz Ramsey him now

RJF's eyes do enough talking

I said it's not bulliten board material in my opinion. I didn't say they wouldn't use it as such.
Aside from that, we don't know if he went out and said it on his own or how the media is spinning what he said.
Keep in mind I don't like trash talk either. I just don't think that this is a case of unsolicited smack-talking. Like someone said he UF needs this kind of thing to get pumped up for a game like this then things are not well in G-ville.

If it is able to be used as bulletin board material then it is bulletin board material.

A direct quote is a direct quote. You can't spin that. Does it really matter if he initiated the quote or if a question was asked?

Something about that blog makes me think RJF may not have said those things. The whole article reeks of the "Saban post-game transcript debacle" from a few years ago.
