Yes, it’s the ref’s fault that the Cowboys ran a QB draw to the middle of the field with no timeouts left. If your play depends on the ref sprinting 30 yards and spotting the ball so that you have 1 second left, it’s a fricking stupid play.

My first post criticized the Cowboys play call. Still doesn’t explain the back judge being 30 yards away with seconds left in a playoff game

Have the nearest ref spot it in under 2 minute situations. I blame the umpire for being clunky but not the process of him being the only person allowed to spot it.

I know they used to move the umpire back to behind the DL in 2 minute situations, I guess they don’t do that anymore

Watch this video starting at :56. The ref sets it too far back then corrects it.
That took 1/10th of a second, if that.

He probably could have done a better job but that's still inexcusable game awareness by Dak and Cowboys. Also plenty of other factors for their loss

Exactly. The ref picked it up and set it back a yard. Then picked it up again and put it back in the original spot. He didn’t know what the hell he was doing.

But the whole thing is Dak’s fault.

Dak was an idiot for trying that but watch the replay. The ref picked the ball up and set it down back a yard. Then picked it up again and set it down in the original spot which burned clock. Dak and the ref were frickin idiots on that play.

Bro

The ref was spotting the ball

The ball doesnt just go wherever the Cowboys felt like it

Or...

Stick with me here....

Don’t run qb draw for 15 yards when you have no timeouts and the clock is likely to expire.

He had no idea where to spot it. It took him two tries.

I only see him move it once. The ref was there at 4 seconds, if Dak hands him the ball like he’s supposed to they get another play.

It wasn't so much in the wrong spot. But the U has to touch the ball and center it so that the play can be run.

Then you didn’t watch the close up replay after the game ended. Dak and the ref both are idiots and should be shot.

Yes I watched it in real time and on the replays both CBS and NFL network have shown from different angles. The cowboys center moved the ball up a yard then the ref corrected it. He did not re-spot the ball twice like you’re claiming.

That piece of shite knew what he was doing

His job of spotting the ball after the previous play. The offense doesn’t get to spot the ball the official does. It happens EVERY PLAY

Blame Dallas for bad clock management

umpire or back judge can’t signal TD,

The U is never supposed to signal a TD. Never. Ever.

And the BJ has the GL. All day. Every day. Signaling a TD is his call. The FJ and SJ mirror him depending on who's side it's on.

You really need to learn officiating mechanics.

He set it down back a yard. Then he set it down about 3/4 of a yard farther up.

B/c the BJ starts 25 yds.away from the LOS for every play, dummy. That's why he's 30-35 yds downfield at the end of the play.

Do you even watch games?

The U is always the closest to the ball.

Again, you're being obtuse.
