Welcome back, baws!! Coming off of a huge road win, LSU sets their eyes on an Arkansas team that just beat the living Hell out of Mizzou this past Wednesday.
LSU vs Florida Recap
One of the more impressive Will Wade victories. LSU went into Gainesville, a place that has treated LSU pretty bad and got a W. Not only did they get a W, they defeated Florida without their starting PG Pinson, star Forward Tari Eason only played 7 minutes, and it may have been the poorest officiated game I've ever seen in my entire lifetime.
I know people don't enjoy talking about refs, and act like they're an excuse. However, what LSU had to endure and was still able to win...INSANITY. Florida ended up with 10 fouls. One of which was a technical, and then they had 4 fouls in the last couple minutes to get LSU to one and one. I'm hoping that LSU has proven how tough they are, are a legit contender, and the SEC will stop pulling this shite...I doubt it, though.

Arkansas Players
SR G JD Notae 6'2 190- Excellent 4th year player for the Razorbacks. Was a great 6th man last year, and this year has completely taken over. Averaging 18.8ppg, 4.3rpg, 3.2apg, and 2.7spg. He's only shooting 30.7% from 3, but he's a pretty good shooter overall. Just forces some shots up that hurts his FG% overall.
SR G Chris Lykes 5'7 160- 5th year transfer from U of Miami. Averaged 16ppg at Miami over the last 3 years. Averaging 11.1ppg, not really many other stats. Only shooting 29.6% from 3 but shot better in the ACC. Very great FT shooter and does a good job getting to the line. He's very small, so I think that helps because if you touch him he goes flying.
SR G/F Au'Diese Toney 6'6 205- 4th year transfer from Pitt. Averaged 14ppg at Pitt, averaging 10.6ppg at Arky. Averages 5.6rpg. Only has shot 9 3 pointers all season, but has made 5 of them.
Soph G Davonte Davis 6'4 180- Averaging 10.4ppg, 4.5rpg, 3.9apg. Good slasher and creator, pretty below average shooter from 3, shooting around 26% from 3.
SR G/F Stanley Umude 6'6 210- 5th year transfer from South Dakota. Absolutely killed it at SD. Averaged 22ppg last season. This season averaging 10ppg, 4rpg. Shot at a very good clip at SD, but not so much this season. Only averaging 30.8% from 3 at Arkansas.
Soph F Jaylin Williams 6'10 240- Their main big guy. Very good passer. Averaging 7.4ppg, 8.6rpg, 3.4apg, 1.1bpg. He's not a huge scorer, but very good defensive rebounder.
Soph G/F Jaxson Robinson 6'6 185- Transfer from Texas A&M. Mainly a 3-point shooter for the Hogs. Shoots 32.5%
JR F Connor Vanover 7'3 215- Will start and then go to the bench and not have much of a role. Averaging 4.5ppg, 2.4rpg
Breakdown
Offensively, the Hogs share the ball at an elite clip, take care of it pretty well, and can get to the basket well. They score lots of points at the FT line and have a really high % from 2. Their Achilles heel is the 3. They're really really bad at shooting the 3. They have lots of athletes, but outside of Notae and Lykes, not great scorers.
Defensively, their stats are deceiving. They played a very very weak schedule OOC. If you take away their random drubbing of Mizzou, their other 3 games they have given up an average of 80.6ppg. They also gave up 88 to Oklahoma and 89 too Hofstra.
Prediction
I think Arkansas is still a talented team despite them losing 5 of their last 7. They have some really good athletes. I'm not sure if Pinson is playing or not, but I'm guessing he's not. Regardless, LSU should obviously win. I'm hoping the team stays focused after the last game. I'm assuming because it was such a bullshite game, Wade will have the troops focused and ready to go.
LSU is much much bigger than Arkansas. Arkansas can offset some of that with their athleticism, but Days/Eason/Reef/Reid should crush the boards and the paint. At home, having momentum, LSU should cruise. I expect to get out to a good lead and Arkansas somewhat fold.

I believe we win 74-64. Won’t be able to make this game though, which bums me out. The PMAC has been lit the last 2. I’m sure it’ll be lit for this one.
Definitely will be betting on them Tigers
Anyone seen a early line? I’m guessing -5

It is interesting that they score 80 points per game despite being atrocious from 3.

They play very uptempo and fast. Lots of free points at the line

John Brady has an erection lasting more than 24 hours watching this defense.

If I didn't have stupid Covid I'd be in the PMAC again tomorrow. Last Saturday's game against Tennessee was electric, and I expect the same against Arkansas.

Will be there, coming from the student section tomorrow. Tigers 73 Arky 64. I think we cover, Arkansas’s inability to knock down the 3 ball will limit them offensively, against our already stout defense. I think Arky is talented, but I don’t see this game being in too much doubt. Next week is a brutal 2 game stretch, need Pinson back for Wednesday.
