Lillard has been pushing to return for years. He keeps saying no way Stu died because of the TV.

As for how he could escape without anyone knowing..that's the biggest hurtle to overcome. They would have to do something like we thought he was dead, but he wasn't so we stashed him away in a mental hospital and didn't tell anyone due to the trauma it would cause.

Stu

Supposedly Wes Craven had planned for Stu to be manipulating the killer(s) from his prison cell in Scream 3, but changed it at the last minute because of the Columbine shootings. No idea how true that is and I’m not sure it even makes sense.

The working theories are:

- the killer is Billy’s long lost sibling
- the killer is Billy and Sidney’s love child who she gave up for adoption before heading off to college
- the killer is Stu who has been either in jail or in a nuthouse unbeknownst to everyone for the past 25 years

All 3 feel flimsy and lame.

Sticking him in a nut hut that he eventually escapes would work. He wouldn't need to be mentioned in the others so long as everyone thought he was locked away and sedated.
