Currently building a 16x20 patio back of my house in Lafayette. Getting very close, just roof and ceiling left. I picked up my ceiling materials today, antique t&g v groove pine. Now I need to finish it so I can put it up next week. I’ve tried to find suggestions online, to no avail.
TD community help me out. Polyurethane? Polyacrylic? Tong oil? Danish oil? Something I’m missing?

I have used waterlox on heart pine. The good thing about any of the non poly finishes is you can touch them up if needed, poly requries removal of the old poly before refinsihing. That would be a real bitch on a ceiling with a lot of texture.

What's your opinion on the Old Master "Ascend Exterior" or "Penetrating Sealer"?

Being outside and open to elements, I’d go with a spar varnishes that is used in the marine trade for wooden boats and masts

CWF-UV is a really good product. SW carried it at one time, don't know if they still do.

The few times I’ve used these types of products, I find that the wood grain really washes out and doesn’t “pop” at all, as it does with other clear finishes like oil, poly, wax, etc. If CWF is like that, I could never bring myself to use it on nice antique wood.
TWP was a product that was similar.

I'm a tung oil junkie, so I recommend tung oil.
Its the ultimate natural hand rubbed wood finish. I use it for cabinets, butcher blocks and gun stocks. Its the perfect universal wood finish IMO

Wanted to post an update. I went with "Flood CWF-UV" on my antique pine. I have to say it came out 100X better than I was expecting can't speak to the life of the product but the finish and look are as good as other products. Links of before and afters...
Prefinished
Sealed with 1 coat of "Flood CWF-UV"
