I was high on him before the game, but walked away not feeling great about it. Regardless of talent level, it didn’t seem like that creative of playcalling throughout the whole game.
How do you feel about him as OC at this point?

Simply out manned tonight IMO

Fine. He runs alot of different concepts and incorporates lots of play action on early downs, which is a huge indicator of offensive success

He walked into an unfair fight today. Having said that, I have some questions about the scheme he and BK will employ. Seems like they like a lot of ball control, safe throws using RPO and play action.

Spot on: Talent + Scheme = Success

I'm not going to freak out about one game against Alabama.
Cincy's O-line simply got their arse whipped, and the talent disparity mattered. We should know as well as anybody that it's hard to get into any rhythm on offense when you can't run, and the QB has no time.

I agree.

He didn't wow me but maybe it was the talent disparity. Jury still out

yeah I'm not sure how you can feel great about him after that performance
I also didn't know Ridder sucked that much. He's a 3rd round talent at best.

My thoughts as well. I saw a lot of plays that should gave worked but the execution was poor. With better talent and execution ift could have been a different game. Yeah, I know, hot take.

Yeah I think he will run it more than we have the past couple years. Shorter throws. Will utilize the TE more. Not as much tempo. We’ll see.

Right on point. I am sure BK has noted that our lines are behind the two in the Championship and that will be a focus. We must have the big nasties to complete at the top level.
I am confident we will get them.

Judging on the playoff game, I feel ok, actually. Cincy dropped TDs on 2 separate drives. This wasn't against a disinterested P5 team in a random bowl, it was Bama in the playoffs.

I can't judge him on this game. Cincy looked like they didn't belong.

If the TD throws were caught y'all would be saying totally different things now.

He had 1.2 seconds to throw, that’s why they were short or safe. More time is needed for downfield routes to develop. One encouraging sign is that they moved the ball in the first series of the second half. That suggests that the adjustments worked when the outmanned OL had some gas in the tank. Just couldn’t sustain it after a drive or two. Again, that’s a product of the talent disparity.

His QB was the 1,657 ranked HS player . How do you get to the semis with that?

I'm ok with him. He's Kelly's pick and is obviously a part of his plan. Against Bama playcalling was limited because Cincinnati is not playing SEC caliber teams. Group of 5 got shown what big boy football looks like.

Feel fine with him! The offensive line got blown up. It will be night and day calling offense plays with the skill level LSU has.

I’m cool with him. I don’t judge someone by one game... especially when his players are outmanned at every position.
