Wow! Travel Board never fails to be a wealth of good advise.

I’m guessing Interlaken is more of a summer destination?

Interlaken is famous for the Jungfrau. I call that the most beautiful mountain I have been to but did not see. The day we were there it was foggy and cloudy and we could barely see it.

I’ve been to Interlaken, Bern, and Zurich.

Interlaken was definitely my favorite of those. We stayed on a hostel and did a bunch of outdoors stuff. Stayed during the summertime. It was a very cool location…would go again. Very small town.

It's spectacular. Lucerne was the prettiest Swiss city I saw.

We went to Interlaken in Summer and stayed at Jungfrau hotel. Enjoyed cable car rides, Top of Europe. Close to Eiger mountain as I recall. Jungfrau mountain across the way and people paragliding off mountain behind hotel on to a park area across street from hotel.
Can take a train to other places in or outside country. We did a day trip to Milan and really enjoyed that - about a 2 hour train ride as I recall. But could do other Swiss cities or Paris, Germany, etc pretty easily

Interlaken is definitely a summer destination. In fall/winter you need to be either in the mountains or in the cities.
