“Fortunately for you two, we’re reviving a canceled undercover police program from the eighties, and revamping it for modern times. You see the guys in charge of this stuff lack creativity and are completely out of ideas. So all they do now is recycle shite from the past and expect us all not to notice.”

I love the self awareness. Both are hilarious

“You DO have the right to be an attorney.....if you want to.”
Still gets me every time. Both in my top 10 list of comedies and very re-watchable.

Wish we could get some of those sequel posters in the credits as actual live action movies. 30 Jump Street:Flight Academy

These movies and MacGruber represent the peak of self aware not afraid who we are offending humor before everything suicide dives off a cliff into unfunny and unoriginal.

22 jump street was probably the best comedy sequel of all time (not a high bar I know but still, it’s just as funny as 21 jump street, which is an impossible thing to pull off)

I've never really thought about it much, but you're right. All I can think of is Naked Gun 2 and 3 and American Pie 2.

2012-2014 was about the last time anything funny was ever released, but especially theatrical comedic films.

After that, the combo of BLM, Bruce Jenner, and social media 1984 pretty much killed what little mainstream cultural comedic freedom we had left.

Not being able to make fun of anyone or any group for anything pretty much negates 90% of all things funny.

People wonder why comedies died... Well, it's not hard to look at the timeline of events and figure out why.

Tatum, when I watched 21 Jump, had surprisingly genius comedic timing. The duo with Hill was just over the top fun.

I loved all the spin-off ideas thrown at you at the end of 22. Shane we never got that MIB/Jump Street Crossover but given the times they’d have probably fricked it up.
