Just cuz these kids are taking money doesn’t mean they have heart…they’re just making sound financial decisions

You have to have cash to complete but if you think cash wins over heart explain Texas to me, USC. They could both buy bama 5 times before breakfast

Not one person said “oh heart is all that matters”. You people are ignorant as hell. When you have talented players that want to be here and are willing to put in the work then you’ll field a better team in the 4th quarter. Both teams have 22 players who play. I’d rather have Walker Howard as my starting QB than a guy from California when things get tough.

Sure and that could be a 5 star or a 3 star, but a 5 star has more talent and can put you over the top.

Explain to me how being from Louisiana makes any difference when it comes to patience. That's all it's really about when it comes down to it.

Let's not act like this "I want heart" talk isn't related to the current recruiting cycle melt over Bama and A&M.

Bama and A&M have a great future if those classes pan out and they got way more talent than LSU this cycle. Time to face the facts this time but good thing LSU will be able to stack some full classes starting next year with a full year to recruit under the Kelly regime.

Ever hear the phrase, good guys FINISH LAST...
YOUR POST, always a bridesmaid, never a bride...

TAF will come up w it's own foundation, meanwhile people will overpay for endorsement money early on, and that's reality, until there's firm ground...

sort of like buying a car you want and PURPOSELY OVERPAYING FOR IT, when in reality, the best money is spent on a USED CAR W LOW MILEAGE....

Now think of the 5 STAR ATHLETES, people are OVER$$$$ing it, w NIL OPTIONS...
Perhaps the stronger focus for NIL is on the 4 star athletes (not as much money needs to be spent) and you can steer in more athletes with more money to spread....

But for now, it's the wild wild west

Who said the 5* has more talent? A ranking system? So what your saying is you’d rather have Sopsher and I’d prefer a guy like Neil Farrell Jr. !

LSU will find it’s talent and LSU also isn’t finished with this cycle, as of this point so the melt is for no reason at this point. Why couldn’t LSU easily find someone in the transfer portal from whereverville who wants to give LSU its all and is already mature enough to add more than what was lost from the players that we didn’t get?

Isn’t that a good possibility? There might be a juco player out there who is 6’3” 212, plays QB, played WR in HS and has 2 years to play. He comes here to show off his WR skills and get drafted high. That player ends up being one of the best WRs we’ve had at LSU and dominates everyone but was a 2* recruit. That player will offer just as much as any 5* or more and he will play like a man and not a boy. That’s what we want here, men.

That happens quite often and we have a staff who can identify those players and our new coach is at a school that can recruit those players to his school.

Cash is going to be the name of the game going forward.

OP, this is naive, olden days talk. Here you have agents involved in the negotiations, and they get higher commissions with higher NIL fees. How much does their "heart" have to do with anything, especially when dealing with today's mommas & daddies? Now, according to talk radio,LSU has never lost a La. kid to the portal, but that's a whole different matter & the portal is still wide open, till Feb. signing day at least.

The problem with buying people is keeping them bought. Ohio state already learned this, Aggies are next.

Well Saban recruit 4 and 5 star players and in the last 12 years he got 4 Heisman winners and 6 championships

So it means something. And for you to say otherwise is disingenuous

Ok bud, give me the 5 stars who want the cash rather than the 2 or 3 stars with heart.

Bama also isn’t what they once were! They didn’t kick everyone’s butt this year and they would have lost to a more veteran LSU team this year

As opposed to last year? Most people take dips after their seniors leave.. their “dip” means they’re less favored in the playoffs than usual…
