I had to pull the trigger on some 200gr Hornady's last week for $78. Couldn't help it. I couldn't find any the last several months and I'm down to just a hand full of bullets left. I don't know exactly what's causing the ammo shortages, Covid or whatever, but I sure hope this shite ends soon. I sure don't want to spend several hundreds of dollars on reloading equipment otherwise. I only buy a box of bullets for each of my rifles every couple of years. It shouldn't be like doorbuster sales anytime some ammo arrives at your local sporting goods store.

I’d be prepared to do that, not really for the money savings, but primers are just as hard to get as loaded ammo that isn’t 308 or 556

I saw some on the shelf in MS the other day. Around 50/box for Fusions.

Powder isn’t easy to come by either unless you set alerts and aren’t picky. I’ll fill a kiddie pool with large rifle primers if this ever blows over.

A little too expensive but I have barely seen any available for a long time now, and I check Academy. Bass Pro, and Cabelas a few times a week and can barely find other hunting calibers lately. I know of people asking over $100 a box for .35 whelen. Simmons Sporting Goods had the Federal Fusion .35 whelen for $64 a box but they sold out

I found some two weeks ago at Puglias. They are popping up at certain stores. You have to poke your head in and ask randomly

Yea I can find .308 for my rifle pretty easy. Most Walmart's even have some.

A couple of months ago I got caught up in a scam for .35 Whelen shells on facebook. Sent the money and never got the shells. Should have known the price($62 180 Barnes) was too good to be true at this time.

Spillway Sportsman has both the Hornady Superformance as well as the Federal Fusion in the 35 Whelen.

Better off just buying a cheap 308 rifle until ammo comes back
