Who would be ok with 1 of Jeff Lebby, Kendal Briles or Russ Callaway & the same defense?

I’d love a guy like Barry Odom or Mike Elko but I doubt that happens and to be honest Daronte’s D got better when O quit getting in the way. He likes that heavy pressure and put our corners on an island style of LSU defense we have all known. Then get one of those you g guys to run the offense and who also coaches the quarterbacks. Keep Davis as OL and Faulk as RB or some other role and bring in new people for the rest of the spots, one being a guy that can recruit New Orleans.

If you’ve paid attention to the CCB, most of us.

Lebby and Briles would be great hires for the OC role but Callaway is a bit of a reach, he is not really in the same category as the other 2

Callaway?

This board somehow doesn’t want Brady and yet wants to discuss Callaway as an option? fricking hell.

Briles and Lebby are a world away from Callaway as OCs. However, both are expected to get HC offers in the near future and both have their own schemes that they are going to run. I am not sure that’s the kind of OC Kelly is going to hire here. They are not the kind of guys he had at ND.

Honestly, Callaway Is closer to the mold Kelly has gone with in recent years. Chip Long had called plays at Memphis, but under an offensive-minded head coach. However, Reece was less experienced as a coach than Callaway currently is, so it’s a fitting comparison, in my opinion.

I don’t think Callaway will be the hire, but I do think our OC will be a younger guy and will be tasked with running the scheme that Kelly wants here. That may disappoint some, but it’s a formula that’s been working for Kelly in recent years.

Callaway is brilliant and has called plays as the OC at Samford. Spent some time under Saban and his father is a long time coach. His offensive production is remarkable.

I think Brady absolutely fits the mold of the guys Kelly has hired as OCs recently. I think it would come down to whether they meshed personally and could see eye-to-eye on scheme.

I'll take Grimes over Briles. Briles' shine has worn off from me the past 3 years.

Can't believe nobody is talking Kevin Wilson for OC though. With the likelihood of Lebby going back to Oklahoma, Wilson is one of the only other surefire, zero gamble picks for OC. Dude is a complete beast and always has a top QB and run game ready.

another thing to think about is that Phil Longo and Joe Moorehead were big time offensive guys at the FCS ranks who went to power 5 jobs and performed damn well. Look at UNC's recruiting (and yes I know he was at Ole Miss first) and offense under Longo and look at what Moorhead did at Penn St. Penn St has been horrible on offense since he left.

Honestly this fanbase is too damn picky. Nobody is ever good enough for the dumbest of reasons.

Why aren't teams lining up to hire him? The guy was an analyst and is now an analyst in the nfl.
