Matt LaFleur and Robert Saleh on Brian Kelly

Probably BS, but here’s Matt LaFleur and Robert Saleh’s version of events that happened on a snowy night in Mount Pleasant, MI:
On a winter night in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, Matt LaFleur and Robert Saleh thought they were invited to a party at the home of their boss, Central Michigan University football coach Brian Kelly.
Turns out, they weren’t on the guest list.
They were on the worker list.
"We shoveled the snow and parked all the cars," Saleh said. "Then, at the end of the night, we had to go get the cars again."
And then they went back to the tiny apartment they shared as graduate assistants and stood around their kitchen table—the one without any chairs.
"We decided that when we’re in that position, we’re never going to treat people the way we got treated," said Saleh, now the San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator. "And Matty’s lived up to it."

I'd say working under Brian Kelly has paid off for them, wouldn't you?

so they had to work....who cares...little work never hurt anybody

If that’s the hardest work they’ve ever had to do, they’re lucky. I’ve volunteered to do much worse than that after Hurricane Ida. They just come across as spoiled brats.

God forbid a glorified intern would have to do intern things.
I don’t see the issue here. They were grad assistants, basically student workers. Of course they were given menial tasks.

this writer is such a butthurt pussy "oh let's bring out a story from over 15 years ago to show what a dick he is!"
also Lafleur hated him so much for that he went on to work under Kelly at ND as his QB coach

I’d definitely wouldn’t want to be judged by my actions 20 years ago. I’d assume we all have some not so flattering stories in our past.

TIL Brian Kelly hired multiple NFL coaches. Kind of of dick move by BK but shows how talented he is at finding really good assistant coaches

I didn’t realize just how strong Kelly’s coaching tree is. He sets these guys up for real success going forward in their careers.

It's the MOST HORRENDOUS THING Kelly ever did!!!
It's supposed to be absolute clear evidence that he's a terrible human being. It's actually sort of hysterical.

“There is a right of passage when you’re a GA and [Quality Control coach],” Saleh said. “It was a funny story and not an indictment on how Brian treated us. Brian is a phenomenal man. He really is. It was just one of those deals that was supposed to be a funny story that people took in a negative light. Maybe shame on me, I should have worded it better. The Jets head coach adds: “He’s a really good man,” Saleh added. “He treats people the right way. I know people are probably upset with him now. There’s never a right way to do things of that nature. I’m always one of his biggest fans. I feel awful that it was taken in that light.”

At least he didn’t make them get on a scissor lift.

Saleh’s follow-up is a real testament to why these guys are so successful after their tutelage under Kelly
