Looks like it’s young up and comers.
My picks for OC and DC
OC: Zach Kittley
DC: Doug Belk or Chad Staggs

He had a connection with Rees, that’s why he chose him.
I do believe he goes younger, but proven.
Lake and Briles.

That’s fair. I think he see’s the benefit of younger coaches, as in the energy they bring and less fatigue with road recruiting.

His MO in his first hires at ND and his first attempts at hires at LSU were people he knew and had connections with from his prior school. Expect someone he has an existing relationship with based on history.
History doesnt always dictate the future but it's usually a good indication.

Garrett Riley would be a good candidate for OC. He is young and done great things at SMU

If he is trying to build a new culture it is easier with assistants who have played or coached under him.

Do you think there’s any ND assistants that get promoted to position coaches here?

Yeah he would be solid, I thought SMU was looking to hire him as a Hc though.

Exactly. They understand his approach. They'll believe in the mission and process, etc.
Once your philosophy has become ingrained it's easier to bring others in but he won't want to be the only person who is preaching his message.
Thats what O tried to do.

I think Lebby heads home to Oklahoma.
You give Briles the job. Maybe even tell him that he could be the next head coach if he sticks around long enough. Those things rarely go as planned, but worth consideration.
I think Briles is the best offensive mind in college football.

They hired Rhett Lashlee a few days ago as head coach.

I wouldn't just look at coaches at ND right now. Look around the country as guys who have worked with Kelly and understand the landscape here. They can bridge the gap from the SEC landscape to Kelly.
Not making predictions but guys like Terry Joseph at Texas, Todd Monken at UGA, Brian Polian at ND, Mike Sanford Jr at Minnesota, Jeff Quinn at ND, etc

Briles is not a huge innovator as more of an executor imo he’s a solid coach though. Kittle, Chadwick, and Garret Riley are changing the game slightly.

Briles and Odum as a package from Ark.

I think you may be over some targets.

If Kelly retains Jones it means he met with him and liked what he heard. If he is good enough for Kelly I'm not gonna bitch about it at all lol.
