This thread needs to be brought back after the draft to see how foolish some people thinking TM is a 4th rounder or better.
He would have to kill it in workouts, be clean, and kill it at the combine, if invited, to get drafted at best 4th round.
He won't kill it in workouts and likely won't be clean. His size is a big liability for starters......Undrafted.

At corner he was nothing special....in situations he was....
In NFL he will have to prove himself as a "cornerback"(he never showed me he was a rue cb) he won't be given situations like chavis did for him..NFL receivers and qbs will eat his lunch....I do not think he will be a starter in the NFL based on only playing cb alone....based on that no earlier than 5th...jmo

My comment was not directed towards you, but yeah sure. You go to work everyday and you don't use "drugs". Congrats. Dr Harold Shipman went to work everyday and didnt use drugs so he must have been a good person. Tyrann Mathieu got in trouble for smoking marijuana and smoking some crap that was purchased at a gas station and was legal at the time. If you are going to attack this young mans character for that and claim that you are somehow better because you are a good ole hardworking super man who wouldnt dare smoke that evil marijuana than you are a moron and "there is nothing really more to say."

You are a raging alcoholic that lives in a trailer....he smokes weed and is headed to the NFL. How exactly are you better than him?

Maybe 5,6,7. Would not be surprised if he goes undrafted.

Someone may take him in the last round but I highly doubt it. Probably undrafted free agent.

name one that's 5' 8"
Darrell Green was 5' 9", the same as TM's listed height. He was drafted in the first round, was a four-time pro bowler, and had a 19 year career. Now, he was faster than TM. In fact, he was the fastest in the NFL. But he didn't have anything like TM's disruptive ball hawking skills - no one does, and no one ever has!

He'll be wealthy soon
He will NOT be wealthy soon. His antics cost him that. Third round money will probably be $500,000 per year. If he does extraordinary things he can parlay that into wealth later on, but assume he stays at that level for a typical five year career. He would earn about $2.5 million; pay half of that in agents fees and taxes; barely be able to support an NFL lifestyle with the rest; and retire with nothing. He'd be in his 20's with no money, no skills, and most likely suffering from depression. He'd spend the next decade being paid by some upper end nightclub to hang out there drinking with the patrons. He'd do that until his value faded or until he was so besotted that he couldn't show up anymore. Then, at maybe 40, is when he'd move under the bridge. This is his future if he can't whip his addictions.
I sure hope, instead, that he gets on a team, plays at the level we know he can, and gets to sign the big contract later. But there's a lot of ifs between now and then.

My gut reaction is 3rd at best, 5th at worst.

Go back to O/T. $500,000 year is wealthy. TM7 is the 1%.
Anyone who thinks with 253 draft picks TM7 won't be one of them barring any setbacks is not being logical.

I agree with the Op, 3rd. Great tackling nicklebacker who is a game changer in the return game. Someone's going to take a chance, I mean FFS, he did go to NYC as a soph!

Lol, just bc you don't like the guy doesn't mean he's not going high in the draft. Remember when Denver drafted Tim Tebow 2 rounds early? Do you think for a second that someone's not going to take a chance on the most exciting college football player in the draft? Somebody is going to look at PP7 and what his return game has done, and say this guy can give us that play any time he returns a kick. Undrafted, lol. And lol again.

We can debate all day if marijuana and this other synthetic stuff is a big deal or not. The fact remains at this point the use of it and refusal to quit has cost Tyrann a lot of money. The guys he was hanging around with got caught with bags of weed and a grinder. That's not exactly for recreational use. It doesn't matter how ridiculous you or I think the LSU or NFL rules are teams still have to believe you can adhere to them.

TM7 declares for the draft and it hasn't stop flashing across the bottom of espn yet and some people seriously think he is about to go undrafted. It all depends on how fast he runs and i'm saying 3rd round only because i think he runs a 4.55 forty at best. His shuttle times will be unmatched at the combine though and will make up for everything else. I'm sorry but smoking weed don't make you a bad person in 2012. Half the NFL smoke weed and it's legal in some states.
