Going down to Dulac this weekend for a chartered fishing trip. Is there anywhere to crab on the way down from Houma without a boat? Like off of Hwy 57? TIA

I’d try 57 between dulac and cocodrie. Crabs have been running pretty good all summer in neighboring vicinities but I haven’t been down in a while.

Saw a spot on google maps. I definitely don’t want to be on someone’s private property

That's your best best. There's usually a couple people there.

FYI: The Bayou Sale (pronounced as "Sally") Road is the most haunted road in Louisiana and one of the most haunted in USA.

Tell me more
I’ve run that road to and fro for 35 years
Still do
I’ve seen vehicles in the marsh, but have yet to hear any tales associated

Some individuals have even claimed to witness the Rougarou in the middle of the road, slamming the breaks to avoid him.
Why would you slam on the brakes for the Rougarou!?
The scariest thing about that road is wondering if there’s a drunk coming around the next corner.

People swear that at dawn and dusk they see a 'person" hitchhiking on the side of the road. Supposedly if you pick him up, he will share his treasures with you, which include shrimp, fish, crabs and gold coins. I have never experienced this but have family camps in Cocodrie and Dulac and people swear they have seen this "guy". Caveat: I and my family members are big drinkers.

quote:This is the first I hear of it, and I spent a year on that road and four point road literally from dawn and dusk 7 days a week while working on the Morganza levee. As the surveyor, I was first there, last to leave most days. That Indian heritage down there does smoke some good shite tho...

That would be your best chance and everyone goes there, moreso to castnet for shrimp.
