Even the most liberal among us know this is reality deep down. I could have told you that from my own experience going to school in Lafourche parish. What can be done about it? I really don't know

It's the culture. Act up and expect others to do things for you. It's so sad if you travel to other parts of the world and you see families sacrificing everything for an opportunity at education. I've seen kids having to for 12 hours selling trinkets on the street during the summer to save money for schooling. I've seen a family so poor that they were forced drop their a 10 year old daughter out of school. Imagine living poor and not be able to read or write. I don't doubt that these kids would excel if given the opportunity. Because in their culture, it's their responsibility to learn.
But then you have inner cities in America where hundreds of millions, if not billons , are pumped into the educational system, tutoring, 2nd chance, 3rd chance, 8th chance. What what do we have to show for it?

We tried to send our kids to public schools under the belief that if god kids stayed in public schools, they’d be better. Our oldest didn’t make it through sixth grade before we said frick and sent them to private schools. Everything this guy said is happens in a daily basis. I’m glad to hear someone say it’s their fault and not the system. Systemic racism is a lie.

This is why 90% of blacks fail at the real world... no accountability and discipline. We need to build more prisons.

When you don’t allow people to fail you guarantee their failure. . When people know they will be propped up with free housing, free food and free everything they make no effort.
Cut the BS safety nets 5hat allow this behavior and it will go away.

Have a niece that went to private school her entire life and graduated from Florida State. Joined some teacher of America thing and they shipped her off to some shite hole in Mississippi. Bleeding heart trying to save the world. Don't think she even made it a year.

It’s not “black culture” it’s “African-American culture”.
I’ve known several African immigrants from college and also professionally. They are almost universally hard-working, humble, and intelligent professionals who value their families more than anything. They also put in way more hours studying than me or any of my friends ever did because education is that serious to them- it means the difference between a good life in America or whatever life you can scratch out in Africa.
