I will tell you this from an anecdotical old curmudgeon conservative college professor point of view. Gen Z (this year's college freshmen and lower) may not be as socially conservative as the GOP would like, but they are capitalist to the core. They are very outcomes based in their questioning and habits. Interested in making money not saving the world like the millennials. Mitt Romney having a horse is awesome to them.

Trump didn't apologize for his wealth and they immediately backed off. They are still whining about his tax returns but they didn't hammer home his out of touch with society wealth issue like they did with Romney.
