Got to hand it to him. He's got game - and balls as big as church bells. Consequences be damned - doing the right thing takes center stage. Now it will make the weakling Reps determine the consequences by likewise grabbing their cajones. It's contagious.

Played them how? The Democrats lose nothing keeping him in power and gain a great deal in letting the Republicans fight amongst themselves for the speaker nomination.
Watch for the Democrats to try and peel off a couple of moderate Republicans to get Jefferies named Speaker. Then who gets played like a fiddle?
