Mixed feelings on this one. Didn't the Mises Caucus finally pretty much take over the LP? For clarities' sake, I'm a huge fan of the Mises Institute.

There's a lot to like about RFK Jr, but isn't he all in on social welfare programs and just the idea that government can "solve" societal issues if "done right"?

He's clearly right about the corruption in all the alphabet agencies, but if someone's going to run in the LP, it's all about the message that gets out, and even the hint of trusting government on anything to do things "right" to solve our problems seems to be a bad move.

Dave Smith or bust.

Liberals are closer to libertarians today than they are to neoDemocrats of the current.

I disagree. He's going to pull a lot of blue dog votes from Biden.

Talk about jumping the shark. RFK might be the better Democrat, but he is absolutely not a libertarian by any stretch of the imagination.

It could fairly easily argued that he is a civil libertarian, but I generally agree with you. Certainly not reflective of the Misesian influence currently at the helm.

However, politics makes for strange bedfellows. There is room for anti-establishment views within the party even if not a 1:1 match....especially with a Kennedy.

I guess if you're just going for name recognition and vote total, I can see it. It would just solidify the idea in my mind that big L "Libertarians" aren't libertarian at all and care only about being able to say "don't blame me, I didn't vote for [whoever won whatever election anywhere at any time]."
