I think mucinex has other active ingredients. From what I read the active ingredient that replaced Sudafed has a half life of 5-7 minutes. So it does work, just not effective.

I did have a pulmonary doctor tell me that those do absolutely no good these days.
He said they do make 90% of users sleep or at least relax which helps your body fight it.
He retired when the mask mandate came out during Covid and said he would never take the jab so I trust what the man says.

Phenylephrine is junk.
The stuff that actually does work is pseudoephedrine, which you must purchase at the pharmacy counter after you scan your driver’s license and pinky-promise not to cook methamphetamine.

Yep, I remember when the meth craze first hit, they started making you show ID to buy those medications and they limited you to like 1 per customer. I think now they have taken it off the market completely.

The FDA made Sudafed change their formula for most of their products. You have to request the real stuff from behind the counter.
