PT board’s #2 choice for President disagrees with SC on Affirmative Action

RFKjr:
Just a reminder that several Trump supporters on here have come out in support of RFK and said they would vote for him over Desantis.

"Regarding the Supreme Court banning affirmative action in higher ed — I know many Americans feel that purely race-based decisions are unfair. However, this feeling misses important context. The effects of racist policies going back centuries are now self-perpetuating. Affirmative action understands this and uses race-based policies to undo the effects of racist policies. “Color-blind” admissions tend to favor those who are already in the circle of privilege. It favors those who grew up in affluent, educated households. Wouldn’t you like to invite in those who have been left out in the cold?"

Yellow dog democrats on this board pretending to be conservatives aren't going to like this.

Yes, that’s precisely why we are against affirmative action. Poor whites and Asian/immigrants are being left out in the cold due to race based admissions favoring blacks.

Uh what. It’s a fact.

The only privilege that gets you into college is having a millionaire parent who slips a school official money to get their kid through the door. Those transactions are never official and rarely discovered. Losers blame privilege when they should just blame their own efforts.

Right. Because poor white people don't exist.

why does everyone or almost everyone miss this point - every time you give a slot/job to an affirmative action person you screw a more deserving, more capable person weakening the company /country contributing to less productivity and loss of wealth

Bro, immigrants from poor arse countries are outperforming our kids that have tablets, free food, and a bus that comes to pick them up.
Virtually every child in America has every tool they need in order to be insanely successful.

70% of legacy admissions into Ivy league schools are white. 70% of the US is white.
Also, if we stopped pushing the lie that everyone must go to college and if you don't you're a failure then none of this would matter.

Totally agree! Trade schools should be recruiting the hell out of our high school students right now.

Brain surgeons and airplane pilots come to mind when lowering standards is brought into the mix. Of course to the degree that lower standards a across the board are implemented the whole system becomes less efficient Cost benefit scenarios. Marxism essentially.

I love me some RFK but he’s wrong.
This platitude he’s spouting was the stated goal of affirmative action, but honestly, most of the minorities it helped already came from affluent families. See eg: Corey Booker.
And seriously, I’m sure Hunter Biden and Sheila Jackson Lee were infinitely more qualified than the other people Yale didn’t let in.
