Russia's defence ministry said a single Su-35 was scrambled to meet the B-52 strategic bombers that were flying towards the Russian border on Monday, but that it returned to base after they moved away following a tense stand off.

The development came as Moscow said it had flown two of its own nuclear bombers over the Sea of Japan for more than seven hours, in a statement released as Japan's prime minister was beginning a surprise visit to Ukraine - and as China's premier Xi Jinping continues his own visit to Moscow.

The sad irony to this whole mess is those who duuring Vietnam burned their draft cards and tossed their medals over the fence of the White House will gleefully and eagerly send your kids and grandkids off to war.

Certainly is but given the current climate it only takes one mistake to significantly escalate things... Might be a good idea if we didn't poke where things didn't need to be poked...

If we stop doing training and deterrence patrols then we show weakness. Better to keep doing what we always do and if they want to cry about it, that's them looking weak.

This, but it seems we're chomping at the bit for an excuse to escalate this nonsense.

Boy… this thread will fill up with people who screamed and clawed at their faces about a president starting a war during 16 to 20.

I mean… as intelligent as they claim to be…. They wouldn’t have.. and currently are.. swallowing their programming like good little drones if they aren’t screaming and clawing at their faces now.

This thread will fill up with them aaannnnyyyyy second now.

This is why teaching history and critical thinking skills are important in schools.

Jane Fonda has been touring YMCAs around the country to try and drum up support for the war.

Question:

Aren't all B52's escorted by fighter jets? I thought I remembered that just being the SOP for flight plans in any area.

This Administration is really committed to starting WWIII, aren’t they? Biden is everything that they accused Trump of being.

They were escorted by Polish F-16s, and after they returned to base that's when the Russians decided to intercept for a photo op and propaganda purposes. Appears to have worked based on this thread
