Trump's new label for Ron DeSantis, 'RINO globalist,' has roots in a far-right conspiracy.

Business Insider is on the case.
quote:

Former President Donald Trump has a new label for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis: "RINO Globalist."

"The real Ron is a RINO GLOBALIST, who closed quickly down Florida and even its beaches. Loved the Vaccines and wasted big money on 'Testing.' How quickly people forget!," Trump wrote on Truth Social on Wednesday.

Far-right conspiracy theorists use the word "globalist" to refer to a fringe, anti-semitic conspiracy theory about a cabal of elite individuals secretly controlling the world. Trump's insult is a thinly-veiled accusation that DeSantis is part of this global network of powerful, evil people. Trump did not give any evidence to substantiate the claim.

As for the term RINO, or "Republican in name only," that's an insult Trump reserves for his GOP political foes. He called former Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger "horrible RINOs" in February 2022 because they took seats on the January 6 committee investigating the Capitol riot.

See....and there you go.

Trump sees a R doing good shite, and getting love for standing up to all the woke shite, and he can't stand it.

This is why Trump fails. He should shut his cock sucker and stick to "business" that made him popular - economy, foreign affairs, border security....

Instead, he trolls people, and worse than that, popular R people that help push people away from the D and lefty agendas!

I don't understand.

When all the establishment water is flowing in one single direction, don’t you question the motive and that of those who would benefit from it?

Somethings fricky, and you’re fricky if you can’t see that.

It's really not hard to understand, and it's not because DeSantis is some establishment RINO.

Business Insider and other media outlets are known NeverTrumpers. That's not up for debate. Do you think they would bat an eye to support literally anyone that has a chance to beat Trump? Absolutely not. They'd do the same if Rand Paul (or Ron Paul) was the front runner. Are they establishment?

This is why i keep preaching to STOP BEING FANATICAL ABOUT ANY 1 CANDIDATE. You are so blinded by obedience, that you refuse to pull back, look at DeSantis' actual record, and see he is the MOST CONSERVATIVE GOVERNOR in the US.

You will also see, for every claim of "well if this guy supports DeSantis, that means he's establishment" that Trump has tenfold the same issues. In fact, unlike DeSantis, Trump is actually outright endorsing establishment RINO's.

Trump has thrown his support behind Pence, McCarthy, McDaniel, Graham, and Nikki Haley, all in 1 week. In that same time period, how many establishment goons has DeSantis endorsed...ZERO. Now ask yourself, why can't you see this?

It shouldn't be a surprise that the most successful and popular governors are Youngkin, Kemp, and Desantis - governors who are focusing on true conservative agenda and avoiding all of the Trump- and MAGA-bullshite.

Amazing.

Trump is pro-vaccine. He says he is the father of the vaccine.

Trump also was chief executive over the organization that pushed the method of testing.

As far as beach closures go:

quote:

Gov. Ron DeSantis issued a stay-at-home order that exempted outdoor activities, religious services, and other “essential activities,” citing guidelines from the Trump administration, that lasted one month. DeSantis issued no statewide beach closure order, but at the direction of the CDC and local officials, ordered Broward and Palm Beach County beaches to close in mid-to-late March. Reopening of the state began early May, drawing criticism from the Trump administration.

Gov. DeSantis orders checkpoints on I-10 and I-95 to screen travelers

quote:

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Florida is working to set up more highway checkpoints to deter travelers mostly from New York from arriving in the state, and further spread the new coronavirus.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Saturday the screening of travelers on Interstate 95 will be similar to the measure adopted Friday on Interstate 10 to discourage travel from Louisiana, an area seeing a large spike in cases.
quote:

On Interstate 10, the Florida Highway Patrol and sheriff’s deputies are setting up checkpoints to screen cars from Louisiana and require travelers to self-quarantine for 14 days. It’s not clear how the Interstate 95 screenings will be organized.

The new travel restrictions follow the governor’s order on Tuesday that visitors flying in from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut are to self-quarantine for two weeks under threat of a 60-day jail sentence.
quote:

DeSantis said President Donald Trump told him by phone he was considering a quarantine for New York, New Jersey and Connecticut amid concerns that their residents have traveled to Florida and infected people in Florida. Trump also spoke to reporters Saturday that he was studying the possibility of implementing the restrictions, mentioning specifically Florida.

“Whatever works I think we need to do,” DeSantis said. “The more people are being shuttled around the country, I just think it makes it more difficult. I think it would make it a lot easier if we didn’t have folks coming in from hot zones.”

Florida's DeSantis issues statewide stay-at-home order to curb coronavirus

quote:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis issued a statewide stay-at-home order on Wednesday afternoon to curb the rate of infection in his state during the global coronavirus pandemic.

The order will go into effect at midnight Thursday and last for at least 30 days.
quote:

“It makes sense to make this move now,” the Republican governor said during a press conference Wednesday, adding that he was taking the action after President Trump extended the social distancing guidelines nationwide for another 30 days.

DeSantis, who balked for weeks at issuing such an order, also changed his mind less than a day after receiving a letter from 13 Democratic members of Congress urging him to “immediately issue a statewide stay-at-home order to save lives.”

“This pandemic has not respected global borders so it certainly will not respect county borders,” the letter said. “We cannot wait, we cannot leave this decision to county or municipal governments.”

Exactly. And the fact they are labeling anybody who supports Trump that way is even more telling.
